I am an australian citizen, and I am going to the USA in about 9 months on a EF Student exchange. How do I get my student visa? All I know is that I have to go to somewhere in central sydney for an interview but other then that.. I have no clue?!!?

How long does it take to get an appointment etc? and what number do I call to make an appointment etc? is there a website? Help would be greatly appiciated.

1. you have to choose what school/university you want to study in

2. Apply in that school and submit all necessary papers

3. Wait for your I-20 form THEN apply for your visa

GOOD LUCK! =)
Reply:Check out http://canberra.usembassy.gov/consular/v... Most of what you need to know to get an appointment in Sydney and how to apply will be available there.

In actuality, if you're going over on an exchange program, you'll probably be applying for a J visa rather than an F. You should talk to the program organizers. However, they need to give you a DS-2019 form for the exchange program and will need to put you into the student and exchange visitor database before you can actually apply for the visa. It does seem you have plenty of time to get this done though.
