When is a student, not a student ? When it's a con to get a visa!?

I was reading an article about the latest cash donation probelm for a Labour minister, when I noticed something interesting about the person handing over the cash..........





"The health secretary Alan Johnson became the latest cabinet minister to be embroiled in a scandal over donors last night after he was accused of accepting cash through a proxy.





A student, Waseem Siddiqui, said he was asked by his brother, a local Labour party official, to write a cheque for £3,334 towards Johnson’s failed bid to become deputy leader. Siddiqui, 50, from Pakistan, who has lived in Croydon, south London, on a student visa for the past three years, said his brother Ahmed Yar Mohammed, who is treasurer of Croydon Central Labour party, told him to write the cheque in June ......................."





Call me cynical, but a 50 year old student, for the past 3 years ? I don't think so !!

Yea...I know what you mean. Its loopholes in a system allowing abuse.
Reply:There is much more that is staying hidden beneath a barage of lies.
Reply:Sorry my dad went back to Uni at 50, and he didn't do it to get a visa as we've been british for as many generations as we know about.





Your comment that because he is 50 it is not beleivable he is a student is silly.

Why not? Lots of people become students later in life. Education doesn't have to finish at 16.

Reply:Some people remain students for their whole life hehe.





Maybe he's getting like 3th phd or more
