Student visa to UNITED KINGDOM?

are there any students who came to the UK on a student visa? could you please tell me the whole procedure at the embassy in your homecountry....do you have to have a specific saved amount in your bank...does it matter how much the course cost? what do they ask at the interview when you apply for the visa thank you

Student visa to UNITED KINGDOM?
You need a letter from a recognised college/school/university in UK proving that you have been offered a place.

You need to be able to show (when you apply for your visa and have an interview), that:

1. You can afford the course and living expenses. (This may include proof of your/your parents regular income as well as savings).

2. You have no intention of overstaying or seeking residence and becoming a burden on state funds

3. That you are of good character and clean record

4. That you understand the course you are registered for and convince the Entry Clearance Officer at the Embassy that you are capable and willing to attend and successfully complete the course.

You should allow a LONG time for the whole process. In many countries, it takes 4-6 months to process and obtain a visa (though it could be considerably less).

If you applied to your institution through an agent, I recommend you ask them to guide you through the process. British Immigration 'Services', like those of the US and other countries in my experience, tend to be inefficient and rude and treat all applicants as if they were scum. (presumably because Governements know only too well that foreigners cannot vote!)

Good luck, stick with it and you'll get your visa. Just try not to get too frustrated!
