I underwent medical checkup for australian student visa on 14th of this month.I was told that it takes 2 weeks approximately for the data to be updated on the immigration site.I checked on the site and there has been no change whatsoever.How long will it take for the details to be updated?How long will it take to get my visa?

If you are want to immigrate through study, then better call the people at immigrationunitdotcom. There are a lot of people being refused permanent residence now because they either enrolled in the wrong course, or, enrolled in a course that was ok at the start but no longer suits the rules.
The rules keep changing and the colleges and Universities do not help with immigration advice. If their staff do they face a 6 year jail sentence (with a 4 year minimum served - Federal Offence) as they are operating as unlicensed agents.
If you don't intend to stay now , and won't change your mind later, then don't worry.
Ps, there must be hundreds of thousands of courses and almost all of them let you migrate. I know of only 30 trade courses (out for 250,000) that let you migrate. Many University courses won't either.
