I' am a student and I have accumulated plenty of debt through student loans that are processed through the schools system. Those will be fine but since im middle class and my parents dont send me money plus my job still doesnt pay all the bills...
Where can I go to get some student loans that give the money to myself instead of distribution to the actual school, that way I can use that money for living expense. So basically living loans! Where plz help....
I need student loans but not through the school!?! plz help?
there's some loan eligibility built in to the loans you get through the school, so make sure you've exhausted that eligibility before you look for another loan. the main reason i say that is because the loans you get through school will more than likely have better interest rates than the kind you're asking about.
even if you've used all of your loan eligibility through your school, your financial aid office will still be able to give you options for other loans.
but to answer your question directly, the kind you're asking about are probably directly from banks, so look around at the banks that are in your area. start with your own bank.
the smart thing would still be to contact your financial aid office.
Reply:loans... loans will bury you, but if you take the time to apply for grants and scholarships (yes they require an app and essay) you dont have to pay them back.
i've included a couple of loan places if you prefer loans.
try to aim for grants/scholarships more...
every big (and small) company you see (manufacturer, orgs, corps and groups also) all have grants and scholarships they hand out like candy.
heres a link with a HUGE amount of some available. some you will need to copy and paste into a new window. also, fastweb (take the time to fill it in) will search databases and get back to you with a list of scholarships you qualify for.
Also contact all mens, womens associations in your state, they almost always have grants %26amp; scholarships. What ever field you are going into, contact the orgs, associations etc for them; Also check with professional organizations related to your career interests, such as the American Bar Association or the American Medical Association. they also always have scholarships. Research and dig, call then write. Its all worth it.
OVER apply; it doesnt hurt to have too many, and the extra funds can help with housing.

Reply:Sounds like all your stafford loans are going to tuition and fees and you still want to borrow more, is that correct? If that is the case you would want to look into educational private loans but watch out for interest rates as well as credit checks and some of them may require payment sooner than you would like. Most educational loans will still need to be certified by the school so you might not get to borrow everything you want to and the checks will still go to the school first then will be disbursed to you. If you want a loan that does not go through the school at all talk to your bank but that is immediate repayment.
